Ever since I shared my experiences from a corporate training I held on personal branding, I have been getting a flood of questions in my DMs: “Should I care about my brand?”
Check out this short video on Personal Branding
It’s a fair question—one I have heard from both senior leaders and up-and-coming professionals. That’s exactly why I’m dedicating this edition of The Change Republic newsletter to the power and practicality of personal branding.
All, why should you care about your brand?
↳ Looking to build trust with your team?
↳ You want to open doors to exciting collaborations and opportunities?
↳ Or just simply want to inspire people across your company?
If the answer is “absolutely,” then personal branding is something you can not ignore—even if your company’s brand is already recognized worldwide.
A strong corporate logo may impress, but it can not represent your voice, your passion, or your individual expertise.
People trust people, not just logos. When you share personal insights—like a key lesson from a project or a thoughtful reflection—you connect on a deeper level with colleagues, clients, and potential partners.

Therefore, three reasons to invest in your personal brand:

How you can start building it simply, today
So, how do you actually craft a personal brand that resonates?
Let me share a quick example: I was recently discussing this with one of my clients, who felt unsure when introducing himself at high-profile events or online.
We walked through my BRAND framework™, which helped him find his personal stories highlighting his core values, achievements, and unique perspective. Within minutes, he was writing down conversation-worthy anecdotes that he could use for upcoming interviews and LinkedIn posts.
That's how simple it is, and I am sharing it with you, no strings attached

Why this works: people remember stories more easily than bullet points or job titles.
With your passions and experiences in a good story, you will be the person people recognize and want to engage with—both in real-world meetings and online.
This makes you stand out. Every. Single. Time.
Why it matters in the age of AI
Last weeks were full of news AI rapidly automating tasks. Headache yet?
Sam Altman, OpenAI’s CEO, suggested that AI might soon handle up to 10% of all paid jobs worldwide—a staggering figure that’s both exciting and concerning.
And the President of France, Emmanuel Macron just announced a stunning €109bn investment in AI, matching the Stargate programme in the US.
If you have ever wondered where that leaves us as leaders, here are my 2 cents:
1. AI generates possibilities; you create relationships.
As AI drives the cost of knowledge toward zero—making data and facts widely accessible—it can’t replace the human warmth and trust.
And yes, you build that by sharing your lived experiences and authentic self. It’s your personal brand that turns a mere connection into a partnership.
2. Human connections cut through the noise.
With automated content and chatbots everywhere, it’s easy to feel lost in the crowd. Yet, real stories—filled with personal insights and honest reflections—always command attention.
You will always outperform any AI-generated script.
Key Takeaway:
Personal branding builds trust, attracts opportunities, and inspires others—people connect with people, not just logos. Sharing personal stories makes you memorable and helps you stand out, even in an AI-driven world. As automation rises, human connections and authenticity remain your biggest advantage.
